In a recent interview, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross offered up a hilarious hot take about the infamous AEW: All In fight between CM Punk and Jack Perry.
The 2023 edition of AEW: All In will live in infamy as the show that ended CM Punk’s wild run in the company. Despite a previous backstage brawl with vice presidents, the Young Bucks, the WWE legend clashed with Perry backstage at the huge event in England two summers ago.

AEW announcer Jim Ross was recently asked about the incident during an interview with Inside the Ropes. He revealed that he felt the moment was embarrassing, and Punk was in the wrong. However, he also offered up a pretty funny take about Perry’s likely feelings before the dustup.
“It was embarrassing. I don’t give a s*** who’s right and who’s wrong. It’s not the place or the time to do that,” he said [h/t NoDQ]. “Hold your angst and let it go. And Phil Brooks [CMPunk] is a great friend of mine. We still communicate semi-regularly. He was wrong that day by continuing to stand there and push the buttons. I gotta believe that Jack Perry was scared s***less. He wouldn’t admit that, ’cause that’s not macho. But, you know, come on.”
The incident was Punk’s final appearance in the company before the two sides would part ways soon after. Several months later, he would make his shocking and triumphant return to WWE at Survivor Series 2023. Despite worsening his reputation in AEW, all reports suggest he has been a model employee in his second run with the company.
Perry was sidelined for months following the fight. Eventually, he was brought back to be a part of a new faction with the Bucks and Kazuchika Okada. However, he has again been MIA in recent months.
