WWE Hall-Of-Famer Predicts Chris Jericho Will Not Finish His Wrestling Career In AEW

While the assumption of many is Chris Jericho will end his in-ring career in AEW, a WWE Hall-of-Famer he worked with many times believes a return to his former home is a “no-brainer.”

AEW has become the undisputed No. 2 professional wrestling company in the world. Many individuals deserve credit for the promotion’s success. But there was an important addition early on that played a key role in the company’s rise. And that was signing WWE legend Chris Jericho.

Adding a WWE great with mainstream appeal helped to elevate the AEW brand among wrestling fans. Plus, many disenfranchised with the WWE product at the start of the decade were willing to check out the competition because they had a big name they were familiar with.

In his time with the company, there has been no more loyal employee than Jericho. With his wrestling career in its final chapters, it seems like a near-lock that the multi-time WWE and AEW World Champion will compete for the last time in an All Elite Wrestling ring. Well, fellow WWE great Bubba Ray Dudley, AKA Bully Ray, doesn’t think so.

“Chris Jericho will finish his career in the WWE.” Bully Ray said on a recent edition of “Busted Open Radio.” “End of story, and be inducted into the Hall of Fame, and then pull an Axl Rose and no-show his Hall of Fame induction. Chris is very smart He is a master chess player. You don’t think that the WWE sees the value of Chris Jericho’s last run in the WWE? … It’s a no-brainer.”

Jericho having one final run in WWE would be a storybook ending. Especially since even CM Punk was able to return to the company he once railed against and was away from for 10 years. But considering the sway “Y2J” has in AEW, it would be very shocking if CEO Tony Khan ever let him walk.
