Bobby Lashley hasn’t even made his long-rumored AEW debut and it looks like he is already questioning the odd booking of new boss Tony Khan.
There is no name bigger in wrestling free agency right now than former WWE and TNA champion Bobby Lashley. The “All Mighty” one’s contract was allowed to expire by WWE earlier this year. Allowing him to test his value on the open market. It wasn’t long before the rumors started that Lashley would eventually become All Elite.
Furthermore, when it was reported that both Shelton Benjamin and MVP were in talks with AEW, it looked like a reunion of the Hurt Business faction was being set up in the No. 2 company in the wrestling industry.
After a strong start currying favor with fans unhappy with WWE’s product, the storytelling side of AEW has drawn a lot of criticism over the last couple of years. And much like Vince McMahon was for the company he used to own, Tony Khan gets the final say in all AEW creative decisions. So, any issues with their storylines can be directed at him.
It will be interesting to see how Khan uses the new version of the Hurt Business in the months ahead. But if new comments from Bobby Lashley are any indication, there may be trouble on the horizon.
Bobby Lashley questions booking of the Lio Rush vs. Shelton Benjamin AEW match

“Lio Rush is my dude. I’ll fight for Lio. I saw Shelton fight Lio last week and I wasn’t too happy about that. I like Lio. Lio’s a freaking star,” Bobby Lashley said at a recent virtual signing for K & S WrestleFest. Benjamin and Rush faced off in a recent edition of AEW Dynamite.
Both recently put pen to paper on new exclusive deals with AEW. The fact that two new members of the roster were placed in a match against each other right away is more evidence of the odd booking from Khan recently. The pair of veteran wrestlers also have storyline history with Bobby Lashley.
If Lashley doesn’t like that booking, he is in for a rude awakening for his tenure in AEW.
