It was expected, and it seems to be progressing, as reports have us asking- are Bobby Lashley and MVP talking Hurt with AEW?

Apparently, the answer is yes. But, not the Hurt Business. That small business has closed up shop for now, maybe for good. Lashley and MVP saw their contracts recently expire and the two became free agents from WWE. Prior to that, former Hurt Business member Shelton Benjamin was a victim of roster cuts. One name who is not going to be part of any Hurt reformation? That would be Cedric Alexander, as it was recently revealed that he had signed a new deal with WWE.
So, with three members free and clear, and the former faction reasonably popular, eventually AEW would come calling, right? According to Fightful, that is indeed the case. A recent trademark filing, by a group known to work on behalf of MVP, has filed a new trademark recently for the Hurt Syndicate. And, further to the report? The Hurt Syndicate and AEW are in talks. To what extent remains unknown yet, but the sides are talking.

It would be a solid pickup, because I feel like as the Hurt Business, WWE could have done more with the group. When a reunion had been teased, fans wanted it, but it never happened. Now, three quarters of the group has a chance for a reboot of sorts. As catchy as the Hurt Business was? I actually think the Hurt Syndicate sounds more ominous. Beyond that, however? I frankly don’t know that it would do too much to move a needle in AEW. The company continues to collect cast-offs from WWE and then misuse or worse. Plus, for all three members, youth is not on their side. They can still go, or could, but all are aging. The youngest of the group is Lashley at 48. Hardly a coup of a signing, if one comes to pass. So, are Bobby Lashley and MVP AEW bound?
