Sean Strickland has no issue with speaking his mind.
Strickland, who is scheduled to meet Paulo Costa at UFC 302, made it known that the fight could fall apart.
Apparently, Costa has yet to sign the official fight contract for June 1.
“Well goddamn, Costa,” Strickland said on social media (thanks to MMAMania for the quotes). “I’ve heard that you’ve yet to sign that contract. I’ll tell you what, I didn’t (expletive) believe it. I did not think you’d be acting like a coward.
“You’re acting like you got (expletive) ovaries.”

The 33-year-old Strickland is coming off a split decision loss to Dricus du Plessis in January for the middleweight belt. It was his first title defense after winning it over Israel Adesanya last year.
Costa, meanwhile, lost to Robert Whittaker in February. That marked his first bout since a 2022 win vs. Luke Rockhold in a return to middleweight.
“I noticed something,” Strickland said. “After you fought ‘Izzy,’ you went downhill. You went off that (expletive) deep end. I don’t know what happened in that little (expletive) pea brain you have.
“Do we need to get someone for you to talk to? Do we need to sit you down, have you talk about your (expletive) feelings?”
Strickland was referring to a 2020 loss to Adesanya for the belt. He also suffered a defeat at the hands of Marvin Vettori in 2021.
