As far as Sean O’Malley is concerned, he is still the UFC bantamweight champion.
While the record books and all those watching from inside the Sphere at UFC 306 saw a different result, “Suga” is defending himself.

O’Malley suffered a decision loss to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306, costing him the title that night.
Now that he has had a few days to re-watch the bout, O’Malley is humming a never tune.
“Round 1. I won that round 100%!” he posted on social media. “Based on damage that’s my round.
“Round 2 def lost. Took very little damage tho.”
O’Malley continued, saying that round three was “closer than round 1” before giving it to himself. He did hand the then-challenger round four.
“Round 5 I won,” O’Malley said. “I am the champ. God is good. 1,3,5 round I won. Defending belt against Umar (Nurmagomedov) in Vegas June/July.”
Well, he definitely isn’t doing that but O’Malley is likely to be sidelined while he recovers from surgery for a torn labrum.
