The second meeting between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad almost came to fruition days before UFC 304.
Edwards, the reigning welterweight champion, and Muhammad, the top contender, had a run-in at the fighter hotel elevator earlier this week.

“I just saw him right now in the elevator,” Muhammad told MMA Junkie. “He looked like he was afraid. Him and his brother and coach. They all looked like cowards. His coach was trying to talk a little bit of trash.”
The two are scheduled to meet at the fighter press conference and Muhammad has one hope.
“I’m hoping his coach shows up at the press conference,” Muhammad said. “I know Leon isn’t gonna talk.”
Leon Edwards-Belal Muhammad Set For UFC 304
Edwards and Muhammad squared off back in 2021 in the main event. The bout, though, was declared a no-contest after an accidental eye poke on Muhammad.
Now, the fight headlines Saturday’s event from the Co-op Live in Manchester, England. In the co-main event, interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall squares off with Curtis Blaydes.
Other planned bouts include Bobby Green vs. Paddy Pimblett, Christian Leroy Duncan vs. Gregory Rodrigues, and Arnold Allen vs. Giga Chikadze.
