Here is a new one for all you betting buffs and it involves Khamzat Chimaev.

Chimaev has been scheduled for a key showdown with former champion Robert Whittaker at UFC 308. The middleweight fight is the co-main event on October 26 from Abu Dhabi and the Etihad Arena.

While Chimaev is the betting favorite, he also has slightly better odds to not even make it to the date for the bout.

The two were originally scheduled to meet last June live on ABC but Chimaev pulled out due to illness. The 30-year-old has had multiple bouts fall by the wayside since joining the promotion in 2020.

However, when he does compete, he does not lose. Chimaev is a perfect 13-0 with a recent win over former champion Kamaru Usman. He owns a 7-0 UFC mark that includes five finishes.

According to recent odds, Chimaev is -190 to defeat Whittaker while there is a -140 odd set for the bout to not even happen.

The event, which marks the 20th time the promotion has visited Abu Dhabi, features Ilia Topuria defending his featherweight belt vs. former champion Max Holloway.

Other announced fights include Ciryl Gane vs. Alexander Volkov and Magomed Ankalaev vs. Aleksandar Rakic.

While Chimaev is unbeaten, Whittaker owns a 26-7 record that includes a 6-2 mark over his last eight. He is coming off a finish of Ikram Aliskerov.
