Later this month, Ilia Topuria has the opportunity to cement his status in the UFC.
Topuria will defend his featherweight championship against former titleholder Max Holloway in the main event of UFC 308.

During a recent interview with ESPN, Topuria made it known that he plans to end the career of “Blessed.”
“I already opened a home for old people,” Topuria said (thanks to MMA Mania for the quotes. “(Alexander) Volk (Volkanovski) already has his room. I have another one for you.
“So I’m gonna put you right there after October 26. All for free, don’t worry. No expenses. Bring your pillow.”
The 27-year-old from Germany claimed his first UFC championship with a second round knockout over Volkanovski this past February. He is a perfect 15-0 in his career with the last seven coming inside the Octagon.
Topuria and Holloway continued to exchange words throughout the interview.
“You were forced to fight me, you didn’t want to fight me,” Topuria said. “You asked to fight with Conor McChicken (McGregor).”
UFC 308 is set for October 26 from the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Along with Topuria vs. Holloway, former champion Robert Whittaker takes on Khamzat Chimaev in a key middleweight contest.
