UFC boss Dana White claims Jon Jones is making negotiations for a Tom Aspinall fight difficult by using an unusual tactic.
After over a year and a half away from the Octagon, MMA GOAT Jon Jones made his triumphant return to action. In the main event of UFC 309, “Bones” faced off with heavyweight legend Stipe Miocic. And just like almost all of his other fights, Jones dominated en route to a third-round finish.

After the victory, MMA fans loudly clamored for a unification scrap between Jones and interim heavyweight king Tom Aspinall. However, the 37-year-old maintained the same stance he had before UFC 309. That he had no interest in a bout with the Englishman. And he would rather face current light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira.
But UFC President Dana White made it clear last month it was the fight that needed to happen. And it had the potential to be the biggest bout in company history. Well, on Saturday night after UFC Tampa, White added to the momentum toward Jones vs. Aspinall with an interesting comment about “Bones.”

Jon Jones allegedly more interested in Tom Aspinall fight than he is leading on
“I think it’s the biggest fight in heavyweight history and the history of the company too,” White said. “What’s weird about [Jones’ disinterest in an Aspinall fight] is usually those guys say that s*** behind the scenes and not publicly. Jon says that s*** publicly but not behind the scenes. Jon is a very unique individual to deal with.”
While the heavyweight champ isn’t making negotiations for a bout easy, the UFC president seems dead set on making that his next fight if he returns to the Octagon in 2025. It will likely take a huge contract to make the MMA legend take on such a tough task. But the company definitely has the money to make it happen.
