UFC Vegas 80: Grant Dawson Takes On Bobby Green
Grant Dawson steps into the main event role this Saturday night, taking on Bobby Green at UFC Vegas 80.
All the action streams live on ESPN+ from the Apex in Las Vegas. Other announced bouts include Joe Pyfer vs. Abdul Razak Alhassan, Alex Morono vs. Joaquin Buckley and Drew Dober vs. Ricky Glenn.
For Dawson, this is another opportunity to showcase his skills to the masses. Since joining the promotion of Dana White’s Contender Series in 2017, he has yet to be defeated.
Along with eight wins, Dawson battled Glenn to a draw back in 2021. Since that fight, he has submitted Jared Gordon and Mark Madsen, while picking up a decision over Damir Ismagulov.
Dawson has posted five wins by finish in the UFC and is 20-1-1 overall with 13 wins coming by way of submission and four more by knockout in his career.
This, though, will be his first UFC main event – and against someone very familiar with marquee fights.
UFC Vegas 80: Bobby Green Brings It Each Time
Green, a veteran of the sport, is coming off a submission win over Tony Ferguson at UFC 291 this past July for his 30th career victory.
He has also bested the likes of Al Iaquinta, Erik Koch, Josh Thomson and Pat Healy while sharing the Octagon with Dustin Poirier and Edson Barboza.
Green first signed with the UFC in 2013, picking up a submission win over Jacob Volkman as part of an eight-fight win streak. He began his career back in 2008.
