UFC wrapped up things in Las Vegas from the UFC Apex Saturday night with the long-awaited grudge match between Colby Covington and Tyron Woodley.
Covington, a former interim UFC welterweight champion, and Woodley, a former division titleholder, met in the main event of UFC Vegas 11 live on ESPN+ with Covington scoring the victory.
Following four-plus rounds of action in which Covington dominated, the fight was stopped just over a minute into the fifth. Woodley appeared to suffer an injury, with Covington signaling that he “broke him.”
The co-main event ended in a majority draw between Donald Cerrone and Niko Price. Price was hit with a one-point deduction following two eye pokes, costing him the bout.
Despite that, Price was almost over-joyed with the result. He hugged “Cowboy,” who seemed surprised by his reaction in general.
All the hype around Khamzat Chimaev was backed up inside the Octagon.
Chimaev, who fought twice during the first stint of UFC Fight Island, made his Las Vegas debut in impressive fashion. The middleweight contender finished Gerald Meerschaert in just 17 seconds, landing with the first and only strike he threw.

In just 66 days, Chimaev has scored three UFC victories, setting a modern day record. He is now set to face Demian Maia next.
Johnny Walker overcame a knockdown, finishing Ryan Spann in a battle of Dana White Contender Series prospects. Walker hit Spann with an elbow to earn the first round victory.
Mackenzie Dern continued her dominance on the ground, locking up a first round submission on veteran Randa Marks. Dern improved to 9-1 with her fifth victory via tap – all coming in the opening five minutes of action.
Another alum of Dana White’s Contender Series, Kevin Holland, picked up a split decision over Darren Stewart. Despite the win, Holland offered to give Stewart a rematch after.
The prelims featured six finishes including two stunning submissions.
Damon Jackson, who accepted the fight on just a few days notice, locked in a guillotine choke in the third round to submit Mirsad Bektic.
Mayra Bueno Silva and Darrick Minner each had submission wins with Jessica-Rose Clark and Randy Costa finishing their respective opponents.
David Dvorak and Andre Ewell picked up decisions.
