Check out the latest UFC results as UFC on ESPN 47 took place Saturday night from Las Vegas. The event aired live on ESPN and streamed on ESPN+, as Marvin Vettori and Jared Cannonier met in a middleweight contest.
UFC Results: Jared Cannonier Shows His Might
In a middleweight main event between former title challengers, Jared Cannonier stood firm, besting Marvin Vettori.
Cannonier, a 39-year-old, set a new record as he moved to 17-6 overall and picked up his second consecutive win since a loss to Israel Adesanya for the title. He broke the record for most significant strikes, including 90 in one round.
Overall, Cannonier is now 4-1 since a 2020 loss to Robert Whittaker. For Vettori, he fell to 19-7-1 and is 2-3 over his last five.
Victories On ESPN For Arman And Armen
Arman Tsarukyan finished Joaquim Silva and Armen Petrosyan bested Christian Leroy Duncan in two of the featured main card bouts.
In the lightweight division, Tsarukyan stopped Silva in the third for his 20th career win and second in a row. He is now 7-1 over his last eight fights with three finishes.
Other main card winners included Pat Sabatini, Manuel Torres and Nicolas Dalby. Sabatini locked up a second round submission with an arm-triangle choke on Lucas Almeida.
Torres connected with an elbow that ended the night for Nikolas Motta, while Dalby downed Muslim Salikhov via decision.
Interesting Decisions On Prelims
The prelim portion of the card was filled with some interesting decisions by the judges.
In a flyweight contest between Carlos Hernandez and Denys Bondar, Hernandez appeared to have scored a last-second finish. However, replay was used and an accidental clash of heads was declared.
Hernandez still scored the decision in the bout.
Alessandro Costa stopped Jimmy Flick in the feature bout, winning the flyweight fight with elbows. Kang Kyung-ho overcame a slow start, submitting Cristian Quinonez with a rear-naked choke.
Tereza Bleda and Modestas Bukauskas were also winners.
A bantamweight bout between Dan Argueta and Ronnie Lawrence was overturned to a no-contest. Originally, Argueta won with a guillotine choke, but replay showed Lawrence did not tap.
