Song Yadong and Ricky Simon put on a show for fans Saturday night at UFC Fight Night.
But in the fifth round, Yadong decided enough was enough.
Yadong stopped Simon 70 seconds into the final round, earning a win in the main event live on ESPN2 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The victory was the 20th in his career and fourth over his last five fights – with three of those being stoppages.
In the co-main event, Caio Borralho submitted Michal Oleksiejczuk, while Rodolfo Vieira and Fernando Padilla also picked up stoppage wins.
Marcos Rogerio de Lima and Trey Waters opened the main card with decisions.
On the prelims, Martin Buday, Cody Durden, Irina Alekseeva, Marcus McGhee and Jamey-Lyn Horth were declared winners.
Yadong, Borralho, Vieira and McGhee each earned $50,000 and “Performance of the Night” bonuses.
