Ciryl Gane had the ultimate homecoming at UFC Fight Night Saturday.
Gane, a native of France, scored a third round knockout of Tai Tuivasa in the first-ever UFC card to be held in the country. The event took place from the Accor Arena in Paris.
A former interim UFC heavyweight champion, Gane made sure to be remembered for his skills inside the Octagon. He connected on the game Tuivasa, ending the fight with under a minute to go in the round.
The co-main event saw former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker pick up a decision over Marvin Vettori.
Nassourdine Imavov, Roman Kopylov, William Gomis and Nathaniel Wood were all main card winners.
Gane and Tuivasa earned “Fight of the Night” honors, with Abus Magomedov and Benoit Saint-Denis claiming “Performance of the Night” bonuses. All four received an additional $50,000.
