Randa Markos Vs. Amanda Ribas

Round 1: Huge overhand left just misses for Markos here in the early stages as both fighters feel each other out. Ribas connects and Markos ends up on her back. Appeared to be more of a slip, but regardless, Ribas is on top and working. Ribas advancing her position as Markos attempts to work out and get free with an under-hook. She survives, eating a few knees to the body.

Ribas is all over Markos, landing with a pair of spinning back-kicks and scoring with a takedown. She has over a minute to work for the finish on the ground. She’s in side control, landing with elbows and peppering Markos with shots to the face.

Round 2: Markos comes out knowing she got dominated in the first, moving forward and letting it fly. After a minute of that, though, it is Ribas back in control. Ribas ducks under for a takedown attempt against the fence, taking advantage of a step-slower Markos. She just doesn’t appear to be on her game today against Ribas. Solid exchange by both fighters in the final seconds.

Round 3: Markos with an early takedown, but Ribas nearly grabs the armbar. Ribas in side control working for a possible armbar with just over two minutes to go. She’s cranking on the arm hard and survives for now, but remains on her back. Ribas working for a head-and-arm choke, Markos nearly taps but she survives again.
