As far as Jamahal Hill is concerned, the UFC light heavyweight title belongs in the United States.
Hill will try to do just that Saturday night when he faces Glover Teixeira in the main event of UFC 283.
The event takes place from the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, airing live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
Up for grabs will be the light heavyweight title, which has remained vacant since Jiri Prochazka was forced out of a planned title defense vs. Teixeira.
The 31-year-old Hill, from Chicago, Illinois, owns three consecutive finishes. The highlight of that run was a fourth round TKO over Thiago Santos in the main event of UFC Fight Night live on ESPN this past August.
“I am ready to bring that belt back home,” Hill said after successfully weighing in for the bout.
