Not far out from Tony Ferguson’s upcoming bout with Donald Cerrone, “El Cucuy” has had a pretty nasty exchange with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz.
Ferguson will face Cerrone at the June 8th, UFC 238 card in Chicago. The bout will mark the first time Ferguson has fought since last October, when he scored a TKO win (via corner stoppage) over Anthony Pettis. The winner of Ferguson – Cerrone will have a very, compelling case for a title shot.
Well, recently ESPN shared out a graphic which noted that lightweight contenders Conor McGregor and Justin Gaethje, are the “odd men out” right now. The reason being that the champ Nurmagomedov is expected to face interim champ Dustin Poirier next, and Ferguson is going to face Cerrone.
Abdelaziz proceeded to post the tweet below, and things ratcheted up with Ferguson from there (warning: explicit language).
The real champion fighting the number one contender & a clown fighting a cowboy & a quitter fighting someone who will take his soul away @Justin_Gaethje @TonyFergusonXT @DustinPoirier @TeamKhabib pic.twitter.com/bwFwkM9nnR

So, we’ll see what unfolds from here. Thankfully, it looks like Ferguson’s realized he needs to be focused on Cerrone, and not the manager of a potential opponent….
