Leading up to their bout last summer, Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier were pretty respectful to one another. But, fast forward to today, and the heavyweights seem to have a pretty serious beef forming.
Since Miocic’s reign was quickly ended by Cormier at UFC 226 last July, the former champ has never stopped driving for a rematch. Cormier previously acknowledged that Miocic should get another crack at the belt, but more recently, the stars had this exchange on Twitter.
Do you guys wanna know why I’m not fighting @stipemiocic again?

Reason 1: he’s being entitled, why have I fought since and he hasn’t. He lost the fight is he still the champ? Reason 2: I’m hurt Reason3: how do I do it better? I beat him in a round last time ? https://t.co/sQF4Wu5q6P

.@dc_mma my entitled ass offered to fight you at UFC230 on Nov 3 at MSG. You fought Lewis, while I was fighting fires. https://t.co/VU0OTgcP7s

There you have it. It remains to be seen when or who Cormier will fight next. The expectation was that he would defend the heavyweight title against Brock Lesnar in early 2019. But more recently it was reported the latter’s re-signed with the WWE, prompting speculation as to when the former champ will be clear for an Octagon return.
