Last month’s UFC 232 card didn’t do anything near to the promotion’s top-selling pay-per-views of all time, but it will go down as 2018’s second biggest event.
According to MMA Fighting’s Dave Meltzer, early estimates have the card selling 700,000 pay-per-view buys. The only event to draw more last year was the Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Conor McGregor led, UFC 229 card, which is believed to have sold around 2.4 million PPVs.
So, although the event didn’t hit the 1 million mark, which historically has been the benchmark for the UFC’s top-selling cards, 700,000 is still a very impressive number.
UFC 232 featured Jon Jones reclaiming the light-heavyweight title by taking out Alexander Gustafsson, and Amanda Nunes becoming a champ-champ, by taking the featherweight title from Cris “Cyborg” via knockout.
The event took place in Inglewood, California.
