There’s been widespread talk about who and when Jon Jones will fight again in recent weeks, and now it’s being reported the former light-heavyweight champ will take on his longtime rival, Alexander Gustafsson.
Multiple sources have informed ESPN that Jones and Gustafsson are going to throw down for a second time at UFC 232, which is taking place December 29th in Las Vegas. The bout will be for the light-heavyweight title, as once the fight begins, current champ, Daniel Cormier, will be stripped of the belt.
News of the massive bout has surfaced not long after it was reported that Cormier will defend the heavyweight title against Derrick Lewis at UFC 230, November 3rd. The winner of that bout is expected to face Brock Lesnar in early 2019.
Jones and Gustafsson fought for the first time at UFC 165 in 2013, and the latter lost the instant classic, via unanimous decision.
