Although Derrick Lewis talked about not being ready for a five round fight, following his thrilling, come from behind win at UFC 229, it’s being reported the heavyweight will challenge champ, Daniel Cormier, November 3rd.
Recently ESPN reported that Cormier – Lewis is a go for the headliner of UFC 230, which will take place in New York City. The news comes just three days after Lewis came from behind to KO Alexander Volkov. The booking is also a surprise due to the fact Cormier is expected to fight Brock Lesnar in early 2019.
As a result of this new addition to UFC 230, Valentina Shevchenko is reportedly no longer fighting Sijara Eubanks on November 3rd, but will instead, fight Joanna Jedrzejczyk for the vacant women’s flyweight title at UFC 231 on December 8th.
UFC 230 will also feature Nate Diaz vs. Dustin Poirier and Luke Rockhold vs. Chris Weidman.
