Professional Fighters League Expands Reach To Vietnam

The Professional Fighters League is set to return later this month, and when they do, they will be reaching new audiences.

The PFL announced a partnership with Asia Media powerhouse FPT TV for the upcoming season to air in Vietnam. PFL 1 takes place April 23 and airs live on the United States on ESPN2 and ESPN+.

Each PFL event during the regular season, playoffs and championship will air to viewers in Vietnam, expanding the reach of the promotion into Asia.

“Our partnership with FPT represents the growing demand for MMA content in Asia,” said Peter Murray, CEO of the PFL. “PFL appeals to the more than 550 million MMA fans around the world because of our unique season format and our elite talent, and our premium broadcast product is accelerating our global footprint.”

Along with live event coverage, original programming created by PFL Studios, a fully-integrated global media division, will be included. PFL Studios produces content including television, digital and mobile. 

FPT is the sports broadcast leader in Vietnam and includes packages with the English Premier League, Italy’s Serie A and Asian Football Confederation competitions. IPTV technology is used that provides a variety of entertainment facilities that are highly interactive with users. 

PFL events are set to run through the next several months, leading to the crowning of new champions and $1 million prize to each winner.

PFL 1 features former UFC champion Anthony Pettis taking on Clay Collard. PFL 2 will include Rory MacDonald, a former Bellator champion and UFC title contender, with PFL 3 boasting former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum.
