Stevie Ray and Olivier Aubin-Mercier will do battle for $1 million and the PFL lightweight title next month.
Ray and Aubin-Mercier meet in the 155-pound finale at PFL Championship on November 25. The card takes place from the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The 32-year-old Ray overcame a loss in his PFL debut to advance, besting former UFC and WEC champion Anthony Pettis twice. Back in June, Ray earned a second round submission of “Showtime” in regular season action.
Less than two months later, he did it again, claiming a decision win in the semifinals.
Aubin-Mercier, meanwhile, secured his fifth consecutive win when he downed Martinez in the final four in August. He also holds wins over Raush Manfio and Natan Schulte during this run, and is 5-0 in the PFL.
It will be an interesting collision when Ray and Aubin-Mercier square off. Ray met some of the toughest fighters in the world while competing in the UFC, including Paul Felder, Joe Lauzon, Ross Pearson and Michael Johnson.
Aubin-Mercier has faced off against the likes of former UFC title challenger Gilbert Burns, Evan Dunham and Chad Laprise, who he met in The Ultimate Fighter Nations finals back in 2014.
PFL Championship will feature six world title fights, with each winner also receiving $1 million. The main card airs live on ESPN+ pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN+.
In the main event, Kayla Harrison battles Larissa Pacheco in the women’s lightweight final.
