One of the goals of the PFL Challenger Series is to provide fighters with an opportunity.
Danilo Marques knows what that feels like. He’s been in the big leagues now for several years.
But Marques likely also realizes that this could be his final shot at making it to the top one more time.
Marques headlines PFL Challenger Series 3 this coming Friday night. He will take on Ras Hylton in a heavyweight bout from Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.
The entire card, which airs on Fubo Sports Network, will feature heavyweights fighting for a contract and spot in the PFL.
So far, Thad Jean at welterweight and Amanda Leve at women’s featherweight have earned contracts with their performances on the show.
From 2020-2022, Marques was part of the UFC’s light heavyweight division. He went 2-2 overall, besting Khadis Ibragimov and Mike Rodriguez around losses to Kennedy Nzechukwu and Jailton Almedia.
Marques got back on track last February when he earned a first round submission vs. Brock McKinney at Gladiator Challenge in California.
Overall, he is 12-4 with six submission wins and four more knockout finishes to his resume. He’s competed for LFA and in his native home of Brazil.
Now, though, he can stamp his name in the PFL books.
The rest of the card includes Isaiah Pinson vs. Vitor Resende, Abraham Bably vs. Hassan Graham and Louie Sutherland vs. Alton Meeks.
