PFL 8: Event Set For MSG In NYC In August
The heavyweight and female featherweight semifinals are on tap for PFL 8 this month, as the event takes place August 18 from The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York.
All the action will air live on ESPN+, with the main card also being broadcast on ESPN.
In the main event, Renan Ferreira faces off against Maurice Greene, while the other semifinal in the heavyweight division features Denis Goltsov and Jordan Heiderman.
The women’s featherweight semis, which we will get to soon, includes Larissa Pacheco vs. Olena Kolesnyk and Marina Mokhnatkina vs. Amber Leibrock. Rounding out the card is a featherweight affair between Nathan Kelly and Damion Nelson.
Renan Ferreira Vs. Maurice Greene
You can bet Ferreira is ready to make the most of this opportunity after being stopped by Ante Delija last year. He showed his incredible skills and power with a first round finish in just 50 seconds of Matheus Scheffel to cement his place in the final four.
Greene was able to earn his spot despite a loss to Delija, as he went the distance with him. He also finished Marcelo Nunes earlier this year to rack up points and has spent time in the UFC where he won four fights.
Denis Goltsov Vs. Jordan Heiderman
Goltsov is the experienced fighter in the draw, as he enters with 31 wins to his credit against seven defeats. The 33-year-old went 2-0 during the regular season and is on a four-fight win streak overall. He is 6-1 over his last seven, having only lost to Delija via decision.
Heiderman brings a 7-0 record with him to the SmartCage, finishing Patrick Brady after Brady suffered a knee injury in June. That marked his PFL debut after a strong run with Legacy Fighting Alliance.
