Paulo Costa has announced that he’ll be unable to battle Yoel Romero in January, but the rising star’s hoping to face the middleweight later in the spring.
Initially, the UFC was hoping to have Costa and Romero throw hands at UFC 230 earlier this month. But, Romero couldn’t commit to the bout, due to injuries he incurred in his decision loss to champion Robert Whittaker in June.
Well, the UFC was targeting Costa – Romero for its January 19th event in Brooklyn, but Costa recently shared out the news below.

The belt is coming.
It remains to be seen if the promotion moves forward and books another opponent for Romero.
