Odds Changing On Potential Khamzat Chimaev-Bo Nickal Fight

Bo Nickal wants a challenge. And he is shooting for the stars in doing so.

Nickal, an unbeaten former NCAA wrestling champion, has called out Khamzat Chimaev. The two grapplers are part of the middleweight division of the UFC.

According to SportsBetting.ag, Chimaev opened at -400 against Nickal, who was +330 at that time. However, action has come in on Nickal, moving the odds to Chimaev -300 and Nickal now +250.

Chimaev improved to 12-0 with a first round submission of Kevin Holland last month at UFC 279. However, issues weighing in and other things clouded the performance.

Prior to that, he picked up wins over Gilbert Burns, Li Jingliang and three others inside the Octagon.

Like Chimaev, the 26-year-old Nickal is a rising star. The Colorado native won three NCAA Div. I titles and was the 2019 Dan Hodge Trophy winner, which goes to the most outstanding collegiate wrestler in the nation.

He earned a June victory under the Jorge Masvidal iKon FC banner before competing twice on Dana White’s Contender Series. Both of those wins came in the first round and in under two minutes total.

Nickal recently responded to the challenge on Twitter.

“Y’all I realize Khamzat is one of the best fighter’s right now that’s why I have to fight him,” he said. “I want to be the best in the world that means I have to beat the best guys.

“This is fun for me! I’m born for this.”
