Plans for the GFL are a little different compared to that of the UFC. There will be teams involved with an incentive and revenue share plan set for both the athletes and coaches. Darren Owen, CEO of the GFL, announced six global teams from four different continents will be in play.
The regular season will consist of those six cities with the Top-4 advancing to the semifinals before championship are crowned. A draft for the teams is scheduled for January 24. Points will be handed out for every fight with more for earning a win, much like that of the PFL regular season schedule.
GFL Fight Roster Includes Tyson Woodley, Fabricio Werdum, Anthony Pettis
The GFL has put together a roster of notables to almost rival that of the UFC. In fact, with the kind of star power they are bringing to the promotion, at least in terms of name value, it might top the UFC.
Former UFC champions such a as Tyron Woodley, Fabricio Werdum, Anthony Pettis, Junior dos Santos, Luke Rockhold Andrei Arlovski, Frank Mir and Benson Henderson are all involved. Others like Wanderlei Silva, Alexander Gustafsson and Gegard Mousasi will be competing.

But the promotion is also looking to feature new stars to the sport. That includes Stuart Austin, the only fighter to defeat current interim UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, and bronze medalist Robelis Despaigne.
The complete roster can be found on the official GFL webpage.
