Last year, Bellator went to Madison Square Garden and Michael Chandler stubbed his toe and suddenly Brent Primus was the lightweight champ. It was a weird turn of events that left the universe unbalanced. Why? Because Primus is nowhere near the organization’s best 155-pound fighter, and if not for the freak injury Chandler suffered, we probably would’ve never seen Primus on a main card again.
And in fact, we didn’t until Bellator 212 last night, because Primus was never able to defend his damn belt for whatever reason.
But whatever, things are good now. Everyone has always known Chandler is the best, and he finally got Primus in the cage for a rematch, and after five rounds of scrapping, guess who’s restored order and balance to the universe.

Both men got some good licks in along the way, with some solid moments of slugging. In fact, Primus even dropped Chandler in the second and took his back.
But Chandler is King Badass for a reason, and when Primus began to load up on his strikes, Chandler simply began taking him down and pounding on him. Over and over again.

So all is right again. Chandler’s got the belt. Primus can go back to sitting on the sidelines. And the division can move on.
