Israel Adesanya Reflects On UFC 293 Defeat
For Israel Adesanya, watching his fight from UFC 293 back is something he did not want to remember.
“How did I feel in there?” Adesanya asked during an interview posted to his YouTube channel (thanks to MMA Fighting for the quotes). “Like a bad dream.”
Adesanya discussed the loss earlier this month to Sean Strickland for the middleweight championship with his brother, David, in his first comments since the fight.
“Quietly confident,” Adesanya said about how he’s been feeling. “Quietly confident, and that’s after watching the fight.
“I was like, ‘Oh, I see.’ It wasn’t a nightmare. A nightmare is like you’re scared. It was just like, you try and hit the guy and it just feels like noodle arms. I just felt like that – like a bad dream.
“The feeling I had watching it was completely different. I’m quietly confident.”
Israel Adesanya Now Looking For Another Shot
Adesanya discussed what could be next for him but kept that conversation very short.
“”We’ll see,” he said. “It’s not over. The story’s still being written.”
He added that the “belt’s never mattered to me.”
“I’m just going to do it again, just for fun,” he said. “Just for fun.”
