Darren Till Announces He’s Headed to 185

There’s been talk for months that Darren Till’s future is at middleweight, and recently the British fighter confirmed he’s moving up to 185.

The 25 year-old Till challenged welterweight champ Tyron Woodley last month at UFC 228, and was submitted by the powerful wrestler in round two. Leading up to the fight, there was considerable speculation as to whether Till would make weight for the bout, due to the fact he missed weight for his bout with Stephen Thompson this past May.

Recently Till penned a blog post for Paddy Power.com, and the 17-1-1 fighter reported this:

“I’m a big dude for welterweight to be honest, so that’s probably going to be my last fight at that weight.

Welterweight isn’t fully gone for me, but I’m going to be happy going up to middleweight now and I’ll be strong at that weight not having to cut as much weight.”

“…I’ll have a few fights at middleweight and you never know, down the line if Woodley is still about then I can have another go at him, that’s a rematch I want.”

So, it will be interesting to see who and when Till fights next, and how he performs at 185.
