Following a recent report that the UFC has offered Khabib Nurmagomedov $15 million for a rematch with Conor McGregor, Dana White has shot down the story, in very Dana White fashion.
Recently Sport Express Ru ran an interview with Khabib’s uncle, Alex Nurmagomedov. According to follow up reports, and the use of Google Translate, Nurmagomedov claimed that the UFC has offered Khabib $15 million for a do-over with Conor. But, Khabib’s uncle said:
“He will not fight him for any money. Yes, I know that they are offering him a rematch. From the start, they offered him 15 million, if he agrees. But Khabib said no. Let Conor stand in line, let him fight with others. But Khabib wants to fight (Tony) Ferguson, and then finish his career.”
So, obviously this story quickly made the rounds, not only because of the massive figure, but because, of the claim that Khabib only wants to fight Ferguson, before retiring. Well, more recently, White posted the comment below:
Does this mean just the $15 million offer is BS? Or that Khabib’s is interested in a rematch with McGregor? Is the retirement part not accurate? All of it? Hard to say.
Recently White also claimed that things between the UFC and Khabib are “good”, following the latter’s warning that if the promotion cuts Zubair Tukhugov, he’s walking away.
