The expectation has been that Conor McGregor won’t be fighting Khabib Nurmagomedov next, but that hasn’t stopped the former champ from calling the UFC champ a “rat” once again.
In more recent weeks, McGregor has expressed an interest in fighting Donald Cerrone or Nate Diaz once again. But more recently, the brash fighter responded to a Nurmagomedov post in fiery fashion. Not surprisingly, the undefeated lightweight had a pretty heated, snappy, response of his own.
You got your money took and your brothers eye socket shook when you fought me you little rat.

McGregor faced Nurmagomedov last October, following an intense, polarizing lead-up to the fight that was largely driven by verbal attacks the former champ made. Nurmagomedov, however, went on to submit McGregor in the fourth round of their bout. Since Nurmagomedov dominated significant portions of the fight, and because he has said McGregor doesn’t deserve a rematch, the belief is the champ will face the winner of Max Holloway vs. Dustin Poirier. The two are fighting for an interim lightweight title on April 13th.
Of course, former interim champ Tony Ferguson could be in the mix as well. Provided his recently reported, personal issues are sorted out by later this year, when Nurmagomedov has said he’ll fight again. Here’s hoping they are.
