Despite all the distractions, Canelo Alvarez still came out on top.
Alvarez claimed a decision victory over Daniel Jacobs, sweeping the cards by scores of 115-113, 115-113 and 116-112.
The card streamed live on DAZN.
The fight was in question after Jacobs failed to make the contracted 170-pound rehydration weight Saturday morning. He was fined $1 million from his purse, but the bout went on.
Alvarez defended his lineal title and improved to 52-1-2 in his career. This was the second fight on his multi-year, multi-fight contract with DAZN. He also unified the three middleweight titles in the process.
The event also features a third round TKO victory by Vergil Ortiz over Mauricio Herrera, Joseph Diaz Jr. besting Freddy Fonseca and Lamont Roach Jr. topping Jonathan Oquendo.
