The featherweight division has been a strong one for Bellator MMA for years.
Fighters such as A.J. McKee, Daniel Straus and Pat Curran have held the title, with Patricio Pitbull currently on his third reign atop the division.
Pitbull and McKee have engaged in a war over the past couple of years, much like Curran and Straus did before.
Joe Soto, who also competed for the UFC title, was the first holder of the belt, with Joe Warren ending his reign.
