Plenty was made of all the “carnival” acts that surrounded boxing in 2024. But for the true athletes of the sport, it was another banner year of action.
That included incredible performances from boxers such as Oleksandr Usyk, Naoya Inoue, Terence Crawford, and Gervonta Davis. All of those made our list of the Top 10 boxers of 2024. And no, Jake Paul did not find his way on the honor list.
Without further ado, take a look at who were the 10 best boxers of 2024.
10. Angelo Leo
Leo continues to pile up wins since suffering his only loss in 2021, winning three times in 2024. He started the year by knocking out Mike Plania in the third round to win the WBA Continental featherweight title. From there, he retained the belt with a decision vs. Eduardo Baez in April. Over the summer, Leo moved to 25-1 when he won the IBF featherweight title with a 10th-round knockout of Luis Albert Lopez.

9. Bakhram Murtazaliev
The Russian made two appearances inside the boxing ring in 2024. And both times, the fights ended early. First, he won the vacant IBF light middleweight belt with an 11th-round knockout of Jack Culcay. After that performance, Murtazaliev returned in October and defended his belt. That night, he stopped Tim Tszyu in the third round to move to 23-0.

8. Fabio Wardley
The heavyweight division is growing older by the day, and Wardley just might be the new one to rule it. The 29-year-old from England earned a decisive victory over Frazer Clarke back in October. Wardley had battled Clarke to a draw earlier in the year. He made sure there would be no decision this time, flattening Clarke in the first round. Wardley holds the British Commonwealth and WBA Continental heavyweight belts.
7. Gervonta Davis
“Tank” continued his unbeaten run with a June finish of Frank Martin. Davis retained his WBA lightweight title when he stopped Martin in the eighth round. We only got to see Davis fight once, but he has an early 2025 bout on the docket. He will return to action live on Prime Video against Lamont Roach Jr.

6. Daniel Dubois
The 27-year-old secured another title for his resume in 2024. With a June finish of Filip Hrgovic, Dubois won the interim IBF heavyweight title. He had lost in a championship match in 2023 to Oleksandr Usyk. Following the win over Hrgovic, Dubois took care of former champion Anthony Joshua. He earned his 22nd career win and 21st knockout with a fifth-round stoppage to defend his belt.

5. Jesse Rodriguez
The reigning WBC and The Ring flyweight champion, “Bam” has held titles at flyweight for the past few years despite being just 24 years old. He kept active this past year with two more wins, bringing his career mark to 21-0.
In June, he won the two titles he currently holds with a seventh-round knockout of Juan Francisco Estrada. Rodriguez followed that up with a successful title defense in November via third-round TKO over Pedro Guevara.
4. Artur Beterbiev
The 39-year-old became the undisputed light heavyweight champion back in October. That night from Saudi Arabia, Beterbiev earned the biggest win of his career via a majority decision over Dmitry Bivol. He also scored a finish of Callum Smith back in January. The bout with Bivol was so close, that an immediate rematch was arranged and is scheduled for early 2025.
3. Terence Crawford
There will come a time when we remember “Bud” in the past tense. For now, we get to enjoy each time he steps inside the boxing ring. This past August, he did just that, scoring a one-sided decision over Israil Madrimov. The reigning WBA and interim WBO light middleweight champion is now 41-0 in his career. Each fight since 2013 for Crawford has included a title on the line.

2. Naoya Inoue
Can anyone knock Inoue off his pedestal? It sure does not look like it. The reigning super bantamweight champion continued his run of wins with a sixth-round knockout of top contender Luis Nery back in May. A few short months later, he returned to action in his home country of Japan. That night, Inoue improved to 28-0 with his 25th finish of his career vs. TJ Doheny.

1. Oleksandr Usyk
Usyk competed just once in 2024 to date, as he has a rematch with Tyson Fury scheduled for this coming weekend. But when you unify the heavyweight championships, you make a statement. That is exactly what Usyk did back in May with a split decision over Fury. He improved to 22-0 that night in Saudi Arabia, adding the WBC title to his waist with the WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO, and The Ring titles.
