There is no doubting Oleksandr Usyk and his placement atop the boxing heavyweight division. Usyk successfully defended his championship with a win over Tyson Fury.

The bout aired lived on DAZN pay-per-view from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Featuring one of the largest purses in boxing history, it was a rematch of a May fight won by Usyk.

After earning a split decision that night, Usyk dominated this one. All three judges scored it in favor of the champion by matching numbers of 116-112.

“I respect this guy because I think he’s very tough,” Usyk told ESPN. “Tyson makes me strong, is a great opponent, big man. He’s a good man, a lot of talk but it’s just show.”

The final numbers all sides with Usyk, as he landed 179 total shots including 106 power shots. He was also more effective, hitting on 42 percent of his overall strikes and 50 percent of his power throws.

“I thought I won the fight again,” Fury said. “I was on the front door the entire time. When you don’t get the knockout, this is what can happen.”

Usyk, the 2012 Olympic gold medalist, now owns two wins over Fury, a knockout of Daniel Dubois and a pair of wins vs. Anthony Joshua since 2021. He now heads into 2025 as the reigning WBO, WBA, The Ring, IBO and WBO heavyweight champion.

Dubois made his claim for the next shot at Usyk. The reigning IBF champion interrupted the post-fight press conference and demanded such.

Before he can get his rematch, Dubois will face Joseph Parker in February. He was awarded the IBF title after the promotion stripped Usyk for accepting the Fury rematch.
