Oleksandr Usyk became the first undisputed heavyweight boxing champion in 20 years Saturday.
Usyk, the reigning WBA, IBF and WBO champion, claimed the WBC and lineal titles with a decision over Tyson Fury. The loss was the first in Fury’s 36-fight career.

Two judges ruled in favor of Usyk by scores of 115-112 and 114-113. Much of that came on the heels of a ninth-round knockdown that nearly ended the bout. The third scored it in favor of Fury, 114-113.
Anthony Cacace claimed the IBF junior lightweight title with a finish of Joe Cordina. Agit Kabayel topped Frank Sanchez in a WBC heavyweight title eliminator.
Moses Itauma, Mark Chamberlain, Robin Sirwan Safar and David Nyika were other winners.
The event took place from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom Arena. It was originally scheduled for Usyk and Fury to meet in February. An injury to Fury, though, caused the delay.

Usyk is the first heavyweight to hold all of the titles currently in rotation. When Lennox Lewis was undisputed champion, there were just three belts up for grabs.
Previously, Usyk was the undisputed cruiserweight champion from 2018-19. He was the first boxer in that division to hold all four major belts.
A 2012 Olympic gold medalist, Usyk is a perfect 22-0 in his career. He has wins over Fury, Anthony Joshua twice and Derek Chisora in recent years.
