Jake Paul is set to face heavyweight legend Mike Tyson later this year. But surprisingly, current division star Zhilei Zhang is not at all against a scrap with the YouTuber turned pugilist.

Paul has become the most disruptive force in the fight game today. The one-time actor and rapper parlayed his fame and fanbase into a career as a boxer. While he has many detractors, there is no denying the financial success that “Problem Child” has been in the fight game.

After a dominant win over UFC veteran, and current BKFC star Mike Perry last week, he will move on to a highly anticipated clash with Mike Tyson in the fall. A consistent criticism of Paul is not facing more competition with similar size or near the same age.

Well, it seems that one of the best heavyweights in the world today would be open to giving the Ohio native a test from an elite fighter today.

Zhilei Zhang respects Jake Paul’s passion to grow as a boxer

In a conversation with Razed this week, the former interim WBO heavyweight king Zhilei Zhang was asked about the idea of a fight with Paul, and the 27-2-1 fighter was not against clash in the near future.

“I would try it why not?” Zhang said. “If the opportunity presents itself then I will. I look at Jake Paul from this perspective. I believe that he came out of the influencer background as a boxer but since he started boxing, he has become dedicated and trains with all the blood, sweat, and tears. He’s been through it.

“He’s on the promotional side as well so I think Jake Paul is attracting a lot of people to the sport which is not bad at all.”

Zhang is coming off an upset technical knockout victory over heavyweight great Deontay Wilder in June. Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson will take place at heavyweight.
