The age-old question of boxing vs. MMA will not be answered between Tommy Fury and Darren Till. The two were scheduled to meet in January during a Misfits event.

Fury, who owns a previous win over Jake Paul, is the brother of former boxing heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. He has decided to remove himself from the planned bout and offered up an explanation.

“I can’t believe I’m writing this,” Fury posted on social media. “I am now not fighting Darren Till on January 18th 2025. For the one simple reason being that Darren has stated over and over that he does not want to abide by professional boxing rules.”

Fury continued, saying that Till has shown he will resort to MMA if losing the bout.

I am a professional boxer,” Fury wrote. “I have been out of the ring for over a year. I wanted this to be a great boxing fight for the fans. I have wanted weeks in training camp.”

It appears the plan is to get Fury into the ring as soon as possible. He noted they are currently working on a new fight and date.

“I promise to get a better opponent and better fight for you guys,” Fury said. “Good news around the corner.”

Fury, 25 years old, has not competed since October 23. He earned a decision win over KSI that night. His last two fights have been vs. KSI and Jake Paul, as he is 10-0 in his career.
