Rashad Evans and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson finally settled their differences some 14 years ago inside the Octagon. But it appears the two former UFC light heavyweight champions now want to run it back.
Evans told MMA Fighting that they are working on putting together a boxing match between the two. In fact, “Suga” is already in training for the rumored bout.

“You’ll be interested to hear that I’ve jumped into training camp and I’m going to do a boxing match with Rampage,” Evans said. “We’re looking to do it potentially at the end of February. It’s most likely going to be here in Florida. We’re going to do a boxing match.”
The two legends squared off in the UFC back in 2010. Evans was the winner that night after the two competed on The Ultimate Fighter. The rivalry was one of the more heated ones of that era.
“Boxing is something I’m a huge fan of,” Evans said. “And there’s nothing better than getting another chance to fight Rampage. Rampage is in pretty good shape right now. I want to get a chance to do it again.”
Jackson was working on a boxing match with Shannon Briggs for his debut in June. However, the bout has fallen apart and appears to be off the planning table now. The 46-year-old made his last MMA appearance in 2019, losing to Fedor Emelianenko at Bellator from Japan.
Evans, who just turned 45 years old, made his last MMA bout in 2022, defeating Gabriel Checco at Eagle FC. That ended a four-year retirement for the former Michigan State University wrestler.
We’ve got a pretty decent relationship,” Evans said of Jackson. “We’ve got a level of respect for each other. But we still have fun and we’re still clowning each other. I’ve still got to deal with him trying to clown me, or I’ll send him a message and try to clown him. We’re fiercely competitive with each other; that’s a good thing.
