Jake Paul Vs. Mike Tyson Fight Shatters Texas Gate Records, Crushing Previous Mark Of Canelo Alvarez

Well, it turns out people will fork over their hard-earned money to see the “freak show” fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson. The two are set to square off later Saturday night live on Netflix from AT&T Stadium.

There are expected to be over 70,000 people in attendance for the fight. And according to a release, the gate has shattered the previous mark for Texas.

Co-promoted by Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions, Paul vs. Tyson has surpassed $17.8 million in live gate. That is nearly double the previous mark for Texas combat sports records.

The previous best mark was set by boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez at $9 million. The Paul-Tyson gate is also being reported to be higher than any non-Las Vegas UFC gate in history.

According to all public records, the only combat sports card to top that mark was Conor McGregor vs. Eddie Alvarez. That card, UFC 205, took place on November 16, 2026 from Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Most Valuable Promotions announced that all VIP seating for the card sold out. In the past 10 days, MVP and Elevate sold through the final 40% of premium hospitality inventory. That includes more than 30% of VIP buyers being from the state of Texas.

Despite some talk that said ticket sales were suffering, it appears that is not the case. The card aired live around the world on Netflix and also included Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano in a rematch.

Over 4,500 complimentary tickets were given to regional veterans and active military groups, local students and youth boxing gyms.

“Breaking records like this is exactly what MVP was built to do – bring the biggest, most electrifying events to fans worldwide,” said Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions. “Jake Paul, Amanda Serrano, and MVP are redefining what’s possible in combat sports, and we’re thrilled to partner with Netflix to make history at AT&T Stadium.

“This is just the beginning for MVP as we continue to raise the bar in delivering unforgettable moments in the ring. Congratulations to Jake Paul, Mike Tyson, Katie Taylor, Amanda Serrano and the rest of this amazing card.

“Every athlete deserves recognition for this historic night. We are also proud to have over 2,000 servicemen and women at Paul vs. Tyson tonight and are honored to give back to our service members by ensuring their presence at this historic event.”
