Despite lacking much of a punch inside the ring, Friday night’s Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson event generated knockout blows in terms of numbers outside of it. The bout headlined a card live from AT&T Stadium that aired live on Netflix.
Paul scored a decision vs. the former heavyweight boxing world champion after eight rounds of less-than-exciting action. Still, the numbers coming back Saturday are ones everyone involved will be happy about.

Along with setting the Texas combat sports gate record, it is being reported that 60 million households tuned in live on Netflix. The streaming giant continues to add to its collection of live sporting events, as they will also broadcast NFL games later this year and WWE Raw starting in 2025.
Full numbers are expected to be released later his week once information is known. But at this time, the event peaked with 65 million concurrent streams. Nearly 50 million households globally tuned in for the co-main event between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano.
Jake Paul-Mike Tyson Event Featured Plenty Of Action
Much like issues with the stream quality buffering, the Taylor-Serrano bout brought plenty of attention. Many felt Serrano won the fight once the final horn sounded, but it was Taylor who retained her titles.
Joe Hand Promotions has reported that they provided the event to over 6,000 bars and restaurants around the United States. That number sets a new record for commercial distribution of a combat sports card over the last 50 years.
Paul and Tyson was the No. 1 trending topic among hashtags on X worldwide Friday with Serrano coming in just behind at No. 2 in the United States, Brazil, Spain and Canada. The fight had all 11 of the Top 11 trending titles in the U.S.
Jake Paul-Mike Tyson Card Breaks Several Records
Along with all of those standout and stellar numbers, the event broke several other marks. That includes the live gate for a combat sports card in Texas and more.
- Paul vs. Tyson and Taylor vs. Serrano 2 is the biggest boxing gate outside of Las Vegas in United States history.
- Paul vs. Tyson’s live gate surpassed $18 million, which is double the previous Texas gate record for boxing and MMA. That mark was set by Canelo Alvarez at $9 million.
- AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas was packed with 72,300 fans in attendance to witness the event.
