It appears as if Francis Ngannou remains steadfast in his desire to prove himself inside the boxing ring. The current PFL Super Fights heavyweight champion has made it known that is where he wants to compete next.

As for an opponent, Ngannou is targeting yet another former boxing heavyweight champion. The 38-year-old has made two appearances inside the ring before, losing to both Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

“I will do boxing next,” he said during an interview with Sportsbook Review recently. “I want to. I’m not done with boxing. It’s not that MMA is easy, it’s the sport that I understand better and I have more experience in, but I say go for boxing.

“Deontay Wilder is known as a guy that knocks everybody out or tries to knock you out. I’m going against that guy, and I myself can knock someone out. Deep inside me there is a little bit of ego, like I know I hit harder.”

Ngannou is coming off a first-round finish in his return to MMA this past October. He stopped Renan Ferreira that night at PFL Super Fights: Battle of the Giants for his seventh straight win inside the cage.

Wilder, who is 39 years old, owns a 43-4-1 record as a professional boxer. He has lost his last two and is just 1-4 over his last five.
