Former Multi-Division Boxing Champion Open To Clash With KSI: ‘If They Want To Negotiate I’ll Speak To Them’

One of the best British boxers of the 21st century surprisingly is open to the idea of a circus fight with YouTuber turned pugilist KSI.

Fight fans in the United States all know about Jake Paul. The one-time child actor has remade him several times over. Going from an actor to a rapper. Then to one of the biggest YouTube stars of the last 20 years, and now he is one of boxing’s most recognized names.

If you didn’t know him before, you probably know him after his very lucrative clash with boxing legend Mike Tyson on Netflix this summer. Well, England also has their own version of Paul in Olajide Olatunji, AKA KSI. The 31-year-old also grew to fame via the video platform and has taken that notoriety into the world of boxing.

While he has not been as successful as Paul, he has still made a solid chunk of change in the fight game. It is why he was able to get a fight with one-time Paul opponent Tommy Fury in 2023 and is set to face off with MMA outcast Dillon Danis in March.

Like his fellow YouTuber, he is viewed as an opportunity for retired fighters to step back into the cage for one last taste of glory for the right price. And it seems that multi-time champion Amir Khan is willing to face KSI if the price is right.

Amir Khan on KSI fight: ‘I want £10m for the fight’

“I’ve never spoken to KSI or anyone from his team. But they know where I am and know how to get in touch with me,” Khan told Betway. “We have mutual friends. And they have spoken to some of my mutual friends. And asked about the fight. But nobody has come to me. I am my own boss now and have been for the last five years. If they want to negotiate with me, I will speak to them. Send it to my lawyer, and then negotiations start.

“I want £10m for the fight 100% because, in a fight like that, I am not getting cut short with PPV numbers. If I want to return to the ring again then I want to make sure I am motivated to get back into the ring,” he added. “I need something big to push me back to the ring. I have enough money. A big name, have won multiple world titles. The Olympics, and a lot of huge fights.”

Khan won championships at lightweight, super lightweight, and welterweight during his career. And scored wins over stars of his era like Paulie Malignaggi, Marcos Maidana, and Zab Judah. While he has been away from the sport for several years, he is still only 38 and could be a very tough fight for KSI.
