Power Slap 8 Results: Paige VanZant Finally Gets Her Hand Raised Again

For the first time in five years, Paige VanZant was declared a winner in combat sports.

VanZant earned a victory over Christine Wolmarans at Power Slap 8 Friday night. The former UFC fighter earned a pair of knockdowns of Wolmarans during the event.

All three judges scored in favor of the 30-year-old VanZant, 30-25. Along with competing for the UFC, she also was in action for Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship and MIsfits Boxing.

“It was absolutely incredible,” VanZant said (thanks to MMA Fighting for the quotes). “Of course I wanted to knock her out with the first slap. I’m so happy that it went the way that it did.

“I knew I could take a punch, I knew I could take a slap. That was really fun.”

Paige VanZant Back In The Winner’s Circle

The last time VanZant had her hand raised was in 2019. She earned a victory for the UFC over Rachael Ostovich via submission with an armbar in the second round.

After losing to Amanda Ribas in 2020, VanZant left the UFC. She fought twice a in 2021 for BKFC, losing to Britain Hart and Ostovich.

In her recent pro boxing debut, VanZant and Elle Brooke battled to a draw over five rounds.
