Issues with the law seem to run in the family for Jon Jones.

The brother of the reigning UFC heavyweight champion, Chandler Jones, entered a plea of no contest regarding a domestic violence charge. Chandler Jones is an NFL star who most recently played with the Oakland Raiders.

The 34-year-old Jones was arrested in Las Vegas in September and charged with a misdemeanor. That was for violating a domestic violence temporary protective order.

In October, he again was arrested for violating the order.

Last September, the Raiders released Jones, who was in the middle of a three-year, $51 million contract. Prior to the release, Jones made several claims directed towards the Oakland owner, along with members of the front office.

According to ESPN, he will avoid jail time if certain conditions are met. Jones received a suspended 90-day jail sentence.

The charge will be dismissed if he stays out of trouble for the next six months. He must also have no contact with the victim outside of Family Court orders.

Jones did not play in the NFL at all last season. He is a four-time Pro Bowl selection and two-time All-Pro first team pick.

Jon Jones Expected To Return To Action Later This Year

The former UFC light heavyweight champion has a laundry list of legal issues. Those include domestic violence charges.

As the reigning heavyweight champion, he is expected to face Stipe Miocic before the calendar flips to 2025.

Last year, “Bones” suffered a torn pec while training for Miocic. That put the fight on hold with an interim champion being crowned in Tom Aspinall.
