A new report claims that Wrestlemania 40 may deliver a scenario that WWE fans have been dying to see happen for almost two years.

Many fans were not happy when Roman Reigns was again victorious at Wrestlemania 38 in 2022. Not just because it continued what was becoming a historic reign, but in doing so he unified the WWE and Universal titles when he defeated Brock Lesnar. However, fans of multiple belts being up for grabs had even more reasons for frustration a month later.

In May 2022, the Uso Brothers began their own champ-champ reign when they defeated RKO-Bro to become the unified tag team champions. Unfortunately, while Reigns’ belts were merged into one and a new world title was created on Raw last year, the tag team titles have remained unified. But that may soon end.

On night one of Wrestlemania 40, Judgement Day members Finn Balor and Damian Priest will defend their belts against five other teams in a six-pack tag team ladder match. There have been various rumors about the match, including a surprise team being added to it.

However, days before the event, Wrestling Observer reporter Dave Meltzer claimed in a new edition of their radio show that there are rumblings WWE “very well may split” the titles this weekend, and based on what he’s hearing he “presumes there’s a good chance that they do.”

Fans have been clamoring for the tag team title belts to be separated for months. Especially since the company has developed one of their strongest tag team rosters ever. Getting championships on both Smackdown and Raw would benefit a lot of the established and rising teams on both rosters.

Don’t be surprised if each set of belts is suspended separately and two teams simultaneously grab them to force a separation within the match.
