Welcome to the latest UFC results from Ringside Intel. This week, we bring you UFC Vegas 91, also known as UFC on ESPN 55, from the Apex outside of Las Vegas. The main card aired live on ESPN with prelims on ESPN2 and ESPN+
In the main event, flyweights Alex Perez and Matheus Nicolau square off in a rematch. The two first met back in 2021 with Nicolau scoring a razor-close split decision. They were previously scheduled for January but the fight was scrapped after a miss at weigh-ins.
Light heavyweights Bogdan Guskov and Ryan Spann square off in the co-main event. Other main card bouts include Karine Silva vs. Ariane Lipski, Jhonata Diniz vs. Austen Lane, David Onama vs. Jonathan Pearce and Uros Medic vs. Tim Means.
The prelims include the likes of Rani Yahya, Austin Hubbard, Ketlen Souza and Gabriel Benitez.
Alex Perez gets his revenge, finishes Matheus Nicolau
There would be no leaving it up to the judges this time. Alex Perez scored a decisive second round knockout over Matheus Nicolau in the main event live on ESPN.
In avenging the previous split decision loss, Perez moved to 25-8 overall and snapped a three-bout losing skid. The win was his first since a 2020 TKO over Jussier Formiga that led to a fight vs. then-champion Deiveson Figueiredo.
Bogdan Guskov earned one of the biggest victories of his career, stopping Ryan Spann. The fight came to an end midway through the second round.
Perez and Guskov were two of the four “Performance of the Night” winners. Joining them in earning $50,000 were Jhonata Diniz and Uros Medic.
